There should be trial and Gen.Musharaff be punished for imposing military rule in Pakistan because democracy is the order of the day and none should be allowed to dethrone democracy and take the country backward.

  1. Musharraf resigned to avoid impeachment charges stemming mostly from his imposition of temporary emergency rule last year which was unconstitutional. He used the time to fire dozens of senior judges and ward off legal challenges to him continuing as president.  The Pakistani Parliament said it had a list of charges, but what happened last year was the biggest charge.

Musharraf is the least of Pakistan's worries.  I'd be more concern with the majority of locals who want to impose an Islamic Theocracy in Pakistan and not with what Mr. Musharraf did last year.

  2. Sure, put him on trial.  Pakistan has a rich history of executing it's former leaders and assassinating its current and future leaders.  Why should Musharraf be different?

  3. Musharraf may have stepped down, but in countries like Pakistan that means he can still be in the politics. Musharraf will still influence the politics without ever coming in public.

    Dictatorships do that.

  4. I doubt he will be but he should be.

  5. I agree with you but doubt wheter ther will be a trial immediately. He is too shrewed and struck a nice deal with the civil establishment. He will definitely face the music in due course.Nawaz Shariff will not keep quite.

  6. no chance if they tried the army would now accept it which is the most organised and well administered organisation in that country than political parties

  7. They'll need to build a strong offense for that as imposing military rules isn't entirely illegal as it is to be used under events of a national emergency as a seemingly unsolvable tragedy happened with nation's democratically elected leaders, a national tragedy by any means. Under such events, then the Chief of the Armed forces have the full authority to overthrow the country's democratically elected govt. for the time being and to maintain law and order more importantly in time of national crisis and as long as a solution for the problem isn't found.

And for Pakistan, I felt that Nawaz Sharif was the appropriate choice for becoming next President of Pakistan but appointing Asif Zardari as next Pakistan President is a good decision also but that leaves one more question as to who's the right choice for Prime Minister's post because Yusuf Raza Gilani was to be Prime Minister for the time being as long as Parvez Musharraf wasn't ousted so then I believe that now the best alternative for Prime Minister's post is Nawaz Sharif or his brother the Punjabi Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif as one of these two should become next Prime Minister of Pakistan. And that is also, that in order to pave way for Mr. Nawaz Sharif to become Prime Minister, some amendments maybe needed to be made into the Pakistani Constitution as it was earlier changed by then-Pakistan President that one can't become Prime Minister for more than two terms and Nawaz Sharif has been already Prime Minister for two terms. So either this amendment part is need to be done or Shahbaz Sharif should become Prime Minister and Nawaz Sharif may settle as either as Deputy Prime Minister or retake Chief Minister's position in Punjab for the time being. Plus it would help create a power balance in Pakistan as the both seats of highest authority in Pakistan would be controlled by the both biggest parties of Pakistan.

  8. yes... there  SHOULD be

    but there wont b

technically NOW our constitution says if someone declares martial law n emergency, he'l be hanged

    go figure

    lol

bhai  like shaukat aziz  he'll leave the country and never come back

like shaukat aziz he looted our country and filled his swiss bank accounts

once he leaves the country... well then noone can catch him

n WAT trial? for a trial we need fair judges. n if u havent seen our judges have been removed from service

no matter WHAT zardari n nawaz say, mark my word the judges will NOT be restored. they r just playing wid da ppl

so yeah... mushy bhai MUST have at least this much contacts as 8.5 yrs in service that he can manage to safely escape n he must have this much connections abroad in Saudiarab/USA/UK that he makes a palace there n live happily ever after on the money he stole from Pakistan

in a nutshell: he SHOULD most definitely 100% be held on trial but sadly due to the current situation... he WONT be.

NO THEY WONT TRY MUSHARRAF 4 IMPOSING MILITARY RULE IN PAKISTAN
