  1. If they can't tell you, I don't anyone on here can give you a better answer, sorry. Most electric companies will work out a payment plan with you, especially in the summer, but it varies from company to company how they handle that. Maybe call them back and try talking to a supervisor.

  2. That depends on many things.  First, do you have a good history with them and is this the first time you have been delinquent?  Can you pay half now and make another payment quickly?  Do you have small children or an adult that depends on electricity for health issues?  Get some money to them as soon as you can,  then keep making payments.  Don't stop sending them money and try to reduce your usage as much as you can.  Show them you are serious about paying your bill and they will work with you...but talk to a supervisor not just the first person that answers the phone and remember that people call and lie to them all the time.   You might also want to consult a non-profit consumer credit counselor to help you get back on track with all your bills.   Good luck and best wishes!

  3. save the money until you get all of it since they are playing the guessing game. you should get some candles just in case though.

  4. They always tell you that, so you panic and pay the rest of your bill. If you're a customer that usually pays on time, and in full, then most likely they will NOT cut you off. Paying half shows good faith. Make sure you make another payment ASAP, even if it's not the rest of the balance, just to show you're actively paying.

Turning off someone's power is a serious thing, and most companies won't take that step unless you are seriously delinquent.
