I'm looking to buy 2 Kicker 12" CVRs with a Kicker ZX750.1 Amp. I'm wondering if this amp will be enough to power the 2 subs.

Heres the Subs Stats:

* ported hatchback-style enclosure with two 12" CompVR subwoofers

* 2-ohm total impedance

* power handling: 50-800 watts RMS (1,600 watts peak power)

* 32-3/4"W x 16-1/4"H x 17-1/2"D1 x 14-1/4"D2

* warranty: 1 year

And Heres the stats for the amp:

* mono subwoofer amplifier

* 375 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (750 watts x 1 at 2 ohms)

* variable low-pass filter (50-200 Hz at 24 dB per octave)

* variable bass boost (0-18 dB at 40 Hz)

* wired remote bass level control

Thanks.

  1. That amp will power the subs, but be underpowered. The amp won't put out 750w all the time. I would get a zx1000.1 or a zx850.2 if the box allows for individual hookup. I'm guessing you want them fairly load also, since your going with kicker. I run my subs underpowered but I'm in a single cab truck. (2 L712s with 2 zx750.2s)

  2. I think it would be fairly perfect. Possibly consider the zx1000.1, whereas, you would be sure to have enough power. You can always turn it down - better to have enough, than not have enough and craving a little more.

    Double check:

    If the subs are Not 4 ohm DVC - you can only wire them together at 1 or 4 ohms. If they are DVC, you want 2 ohm CVR's.

    If they are single voice coil (SVC), be sure they Are 4 ohm. Then they can be wired to either the zx750 or the zx1000 at 2 ohm.

  3. That amp will work very well. I have been nothing but impressed by the ZX series amps. Every birth sheet that I've seen says the amp is at least 10 watts more than it's rated power. You will not be disappointed with this set up.
