  1. TruDat is not entirely correct. Now i have no clue how a heritage museum would deal with it in regards to your diabetes. But on a Class 1 railroad you can use insulin and still be an engineer if you can prove to the medical examiner that your blood sugar levels can be controlled at all times.I would guess if it was ok for a major railroad it would be ok for a museum railroad.Good luck with your dream!

  2. Volunteer! As long as you keep your sugar level regulated, you shouldn't have a problem.

  3. Of course not, and being a medical condition, you need not disclose it anyway! Diabetes is not something that would put anyone else in danger!

    GO FOR YOUR DREAMS MAN!

  4. Good answers above, go for it.

It shouldnt matter, I have several co-workers who are diabetic and on insulin.

If your diabetes is severe enough to have affected your eyesight, that will be a problem, glasses are ok so long as it is correctable but you cant be in the least bit color blind.

Other than that, you should be ok.

    good Luck!!
