its a 10 inch, dule 4 0hms voice coil, handling 200-500 watts rms, peak power 1,500watts, alpine,

I was thinking of gettin a ALPINE V12 Mono amp (MRD-M1001)

Spec:

its aV12 AccuClass-D mono amplifiers

1800W x 1 (Max)

1000W x 1 RMS [2 Ohm @14.4V (1%THD)]

500W x 1 RMS [4 Ohm @14.4V (1%THD)]

700W x 1 RMS [2 Ohm @12V (1%THD)]

350W x 1 RMS [4 Ohm @12V (1%THD)]

Would this suit my sub or would it be to powerful??

really need help with this as im buyin it over ebay and the items time is near up!!

I also have a 600watt alpine v12 amp would this be better suited 4 the sub??

Thanks 4 any feed back

  1. When wiring a DVC sub it will be wired to half its value or double its value (meaning impedance)...So you either wire it to 2 ohms or 8 ohms...You would want 2 ohms but it will be double its rated value at this...If you want to pick up another one of these it would be back up to 4 ohms but now you're at 1000 RMS watts...Basically you should've either went with 2 2 ohm subs...And it would've been a great set up running at 2 ohms which is 1000 wRMS on the amp...(I'm guessing they are Type R 12s but you said 10???) Then the first amp would be perfect for 2 2 ohm subs. The second amp you can try to run it if its 600 RMS at 2 ohms but turn the gain and stuff down so it will not overpower it...However Alpine subs are usually pretty solid so just work on it and keep it down then turn it up until it clips and then adjust gain...It's going to take some TLC

    Hope I helped
