My sister has a 33% chance of tubal pregnancy...unfortunately she is already about 10 weeks along... my question is...Will her baby be still growing in her tubes. By the time she would get it removed if it is in her tubes the baby will be a baby in my eyes because she will be kind of far along. I just want to know if the baby stops growing if its in the tubes, or if it continues to grow. I know she cant carry it and will have to get the baby removed but i just would like to know...BTW she just found out she is pregnant after having her tubes tied 2 yrs. ago thats why theres a chance of tubal pregnancy. She just had her first docs. appt. and they concluded how far along she may be by dates not u/s...

  1. buy 10 week i belive the baby is to big or almost to big to still be in the tube without rupture... Yes the baby grows in the tube untill the eviroment becomes unstable...(rupture)..

if she is not having major cramps and pain she might be in the clear... mine was painfull at 9 weeks and we just managed to "save" the tube from rupture... but i grow big babys is my 4mth old is any gage to go by

    good luck

  2. yes the baby will continue to grow in her tubes and if not removed it could burst her tubes and kill her.

  3. When a woman has a tubal pregnancy, there is no choice, she must have surgery to remove it otherwise it will rupture and that is dangerous and can lead to death of the mother.

It is my understanding that there is no room for the baby to grow in the fallopian tube, it does not grow and stretch like the uterus does, so whether the baby is alive or not at this point is (I'm sorry to say) unimportant, because the baby can't survive if it is implanted in the fallopian tube.

You said that it "may" be a tubal pregnancy, so there is a good chance that it is not, so keep hoping and praying that your sister and the baby will be okay.

Peace & Blessings to you and your sister.

  4. I am surprised that she is asymptomatic with a tubal at 10 weeks. An ectopic pregnancy usually continues to grow, but by about 6-8 weeks, it will be very painful and could rupture the tube. I hope they are working quickly to find out if it is a tubal. Is she is pain? Hopefully it isn't a tubal and all will work out ok.

  5. If it is a tubal pregnancy, yes, the embryo continues to grow until it ruptures her tube.

I am extremely surprised, shocked, and dismayed -- given her risk of tubal, and an estimated 10 weeks, that they did not suggest she RUSH to the hospital to get a U/S ASAP to rule out a tubal pregnancy.

If she has a tubal, her tube could rupture at any moment.

If it does, your sister could easily die.

Sure, the embryo could be considered a fetus or baby soon -- and yes, it will grow -- but it will also kill her and die if she leaves it that way and seeks no medical attention.

It usually happens, ruptures, at about 12 weeks, but it can happen earlier.

I sincerely hope that she has an ultrasound TOMORROW, and that this is NOT a tubal pregnancy, because that requires surgery and is traumatic to a woman.

I wish your sister good luck and you good luck, too!
