so now i was thinming for a long time what to get and i think i finally got it

at first i wanted somethign simple like stars or somekind of kenji but then decided that its too "common" and now i want this one:

i found this design on BME i wanted a skull with some flowers and when i saw this i said this is it

im a bit worried if it would look too "girly" ( im a guy) but i guess if that make me happy thats all it counts

im white /caucasian so i want it in color but what color would look the best ??

also how much ( approx.) will that cost ??

i was saving money and i have somewhere near 300-400$ will that be enough??( by the time i will turn 18 i guess i will have a bit more)

  1. I love the old school type style like that, but I hate that you're using a flash.

I say you should get your artist to design something similar for you, that way no one else will have the same tattoo as you, and you'll be 100% happy with it. (Plus, he/she can make it a bit less girly if you want)

And what is kenji? Assuming you meant kanji, that's how it's spelled just so you know, and it's pronounced hahn-zee not kahn-gee like most think.

But if that's the one you're set on, no I don't think it's too girly, I wouldn't get it on my leg, but if it's what you want go for it.(:

    Hope I helped.

  2. I think the tattoo is a bit girly for a guy(my opinion only)I think you can get a good tattoo for 4 or 5 hundred. But here is my advice as a mother,as someone who also has and loves tattoos, and as someone who has hired people for jobs......dont put anything BELOW your shirtsleeve.A t-shirt should cover it.Also it hurts ALOT less on the calf.

  3. Just make sure you want it! I have tattooed on my back east bay punk mafia (E.B.P.M.) and stars on finger and black boxes on my index finger please make sure you want it! For the cost it depends on how big the tattoo is! It is a bit girly  um and get colors that pop!

  4. I don't think it girly.  If your really worried about that, when you go talk to the tattoo artist, bring that up to them and they will be able to work with you on how to make it more manly.  Any good tattoo artist will be able to work with you and this design to make it exactly what you want. They should be able to work with you and possibly change it up a bit but still give the same idea this way it is not an exact copy and will have some orginiallity.  As for price, each shop has different prices, typically a per hour cost. I would suggest speaking with more than one shop and getting different prices.  Just remember with tattoos typically you get what you pay for, so if you go cheap you get cheap work. Good Luck!

  5. Maybe you should start with something a little more simple.

Just because its your first tattoo

  6. i think it looks nice!

    great design!

ur right as long as ur happy with it! s*x shouldnt matter!

also, it all depends where u get it, the cost would be different anywhere!

if u want it in color and if u want it big, im guessing anywhere from 250+

the smaller the cheaper! and look into the tattoo shop!

make sure they do good work!

my friend got her first tattoo and she didnt even know the place, and within a month it started fading completely, because they didnt ink it correctly!

    i think u should get it :)

  7. Yeah it's a good idea.

Just be sure you want it.

  8. Its nice, if you want it great its fine for a fist tatt:-)

be wise, don't just rush into it, a tattoo is more or less for life and should be something you wont regret, take it to the parlour they will alter it if you want--add/take bits.

    good luck:-)

  9. That should be enough depending on the size, the bigger it is the moe expensive it will be.

You have time - if you think its too girly you can add things to it to make it more "manly".

Believe me, when it comes to tats - it is up to the person getting them. Think long and hard - be sure of what you want, where you want it, the size, the colors, EVERYTHING, and do not be afraid to tell the artist exactly what you want and expect. It is you who will have it for the rest of your life - be happy with it!!

  10. Ouuu that's a sugar skull!  From dia de los muertes.  Sugar skulls aren't girly, totally get a sugar skull but have your tattoo artist draw up something new for you.  Don't get someone else's tattoo.  And def do bright colours for sugar skulls.  I'm thinking $300ish but make sure to tip!  At least $40-$60.  Good luck!

  11. Not too girly, man.  I dig it.  If you like it go for it just put where you can hide it.

  12. thats really neat n a lil girly maybe make the flowers darker and that will prolly be in the hundered i got a medium celtic heart on my shoulder and that was like 75 with 2 colors

  13. I love that design! It's really beautiful, with an old fashioned, traditional feel. I don't think it's too girly at all. I think a girl could look good with this tattoo, but so could a guy. Skulls in general are more masculine, so I don't think you'd have a problem. It's a mix between a sugar skull and a Sailor Jerry-type design. I think it's a great tattoo idea.

I would get it on your arm - personally I'm not a fan of leg tattoos. The price depends on the size of the tattoo - or more precisely how long it takes to do and the hourly rate of the artist you go to. Make sure you find a good one - it would be better to have to save for a couple more months and get a gorgeous tattoo than get one immediately and have something less attractive that you just had to live with for the rest of your life.

As for colors, I really like the ones in the picture. I'm a fan of the earlier tattoo designs that are mostly black with some coloration, like in the picture. The more modern look is to have tons of bright color, so that's another option. The blue, green, and red in the photo looks really nice. I would just bring that in to the parlor you're going to and ask the artist what they think about colors and and everything - they'll be able to help you tailor it to fit exactly what you want.

Also, make sure you research the meaning of the sugar skull and Day of the Dead just to make sure it fits with what you're interested in getting. I don't think that's too big a concern, but you should probably do a bit of googling to make sure you know the meaning behind it.

Good luck! Show us the pictures once you get it!

  14. it's cute but it may be a little girly...btw i'm almost positive the tattoo symbolizes dia de diablos (day of the dead in mexico) if u like this design i would google more images from dia de diablos and u might find other similar pics

  15. wow i really like it! It would look great! I want something similar. sorry i don't know how much it would cost i suppose it depends on where you go and how big it is. Good luck x

  16. If you want it, then go get it done! Who cares about what other people think? Its your body, do with it whatever you like. It should be an expression of you not other peoples thoughts. Just for the record, I think its cool.
