i think it will considering in the past 5 years boston and white sox have won after not winning in over 50+ years

I don't think so unless Soriano really tears it up the rest of the season and they add another good bullpen guy because I really don't think Marmol or Wood are good enough to close out games.  They need to make some sort of a deal for K-Rod.

I think the Cubs have a legitimate chance to win, but I don't know if they are favorites. According to Bodog.com they have the 2nd best odds at 7/2 (just behind the Red Sox at 3/1).

As you mentioned both the White Sox and Red Sox won World Series Championships after being shut out for over 80 years. However, both teams have won while having home field advantage which is something that the Cubs will not have and have relied on heavily this season.

Even though I am a Dodger fan myself, I won't seeing the Cubs break their dry spell.

Well you'd hope so, if they dont win this year it'd be 100 years since they won a world series. Maybe someone will let that goat in, and the curse will be broken. Oh and maybe we wont have another incident with someone like Steve Bartman. But so far, they are the winningest team in baseball, so I'd say the chances are pretty high

You never know. But if they do want to win they need to get better the Cards and the Brewers are closing in. The Cubs have a lot of road games and lets face it they suck on the road. Chances are they will be takin out. Thats reality if you give me a thumbs down you just cant face it.

no. they have already proven they cant stand up to a good AL team when they got swept by the rays. also remember that the AL has home field advantage and the cubs are a below average team on the road.

i really think this is their time...they are the most complete team in baseball imo, but they haven't really been completely healthy for most of the year and as a result all the parts haven't been clicking at once...when soriano and kerry wood return at full strength they will be a force to be reckoned with and i think it's a matter of time at that point before they get hot and run away with the central division
