Will this be the way humanity ends?

Question

Assuming nothing happens to humanity, like an astoroid, nuclear war, etc. I think the end of humanity will be the technology of robots (Artifical Intellegnece) when they can think for themselves and learn for themselves. It is then, when evil things could be thought of by the robots, like destroying humanity and there is no way, we could win, because there computer systems are so much more advanced to the human brain. So our constant development of technology could be leadeing to an inevitable extinction of humanity, dun dun durrrn or something to that effect.

What do you think?

This was exactly what the Matrix trilogy was all about!!  But we have some time to go before we get to that level.

I'm much more concerned over Iran & their nuclear arms program.  The country is run by a man who feels Israel has no right to exist.

Now, if Israel makes a preemptive strike on Iran, they'll most likely fire their nukes on Israel & the US troops in Iraq.  Then, the Russians will feel it's time to take out the missiles in Poland.

And the rest will be mass destruction.

Who knows what the far future hold?.  Being exterminated by intelligent robots could happen, but probably not in our lifetime.  If robots were developed to a point where they could think, learn, fight and make more of themselves without us, they might have us overmatched.  Wouldn't it be poetic justice for man to degrade nature as we currently do and then be overcome by our own creations?
