Ok so i was reading "The Art of Expressing the Human Body" again based Bruce lees training and read the interval training. I heard this will improve endurance speed, rhythm, agility, and muscle tone. It gives 4 choices based on your fitness level.

Two series of 1-minute jog, 30-second sprint, and 1-minute walk= 5 minutes total

Four Series of 1-minute jog, 30-second sprint, and 1 minute walk= 10 minutes total

Six series of 1-minute jog, 30-second sprint, and 1 minute walk= 15 minutes total

Eight series of 1-minute jog, 30-second sprint, and 1 minute walk= 20 minutes total

I am mainly focusing on all out sprint speed because i am thinking of joining football soon. But i have heard jogging makes the body slower because it only works the slow twitch muscles. Please help and ill give 5 stars

  1. If you are trying to join a football team, this would be a workout to do because it will help with your sprinting. However, jogging does not make you slower, what I would recommend is doing this workout on monday, then go for a easy 30 minute jog on tuesday, then a nice 2-3mile run at a HARD pace, as if you where racing, On thursday do another easy 30 minute jog, and on friday you can do this workout again. And rest on the weekend. The workout that you mentioned will help with your speed, but not endurance, the 2-3mile hard run will help with the endurance. If you find the 2-3 miles too easy, run harder not further. I hope this is what you are looking for. Good luck!

  2. somewhat. I have been running for 8 years now and would recommend the following:

I would strengthen the core: calves, quads, hams, back and abdominal (the "six pack" muscles along with the obleks), chest and arms. But when strengthening these muscles, I would focus more on the muscle endurance not the muscle bulk. For more advice for this, I would consult with a personal trainer. For the running part, I would stay flexible as it helps/contributes to your balance (so do the muscles in your core) but also helps prevent some injuries like pulled muscles and shin splints. Also, I would try to make up a schedule where you can run for X amount of days and try to have a long run. I would start off slowly, running about 2-3 miles per run for the first week and increase my mileage per week. Make sure you have the following: a good diet, hydration, sleep, a good sense on how to take care of your body, and sleep. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Good Luck!!!

  3. first of all, if you jog, walk or sprint it will help your body burn fat. sprinting is good for getting you fast but jogging can build stamina. in football, you don't want to be winded. if you want to get in great shape, build stamina and be fast do eight series of 1 minute jogs, 8 30 second sprints and 8 one minute walks.
