  1. A proper computer chair or for that matter any chair should be one that is comfortable to you.  In a computer chair you are looking for the following:  a chair on wheels, swivel, adjustable height, arms, a high back, and a lumbar support.  The hips should be slightly higher than the knees, the feet should be flat on the floor, and you should be sitting all the way in the back of the chair.  The arms should be able to hang freely and key on a keyboard that is slightly tiered.

  2. If you are experiencing a back pain already, I'd suggest you wearing a SACROILIAC BELT  (aka SI BELT or TROCHANTER BELT) around your pelvis? What it does is that by providing the correct balance of resistance and resilience, the SI belt re-establishes the joint’s normal motion,  thus relieves stress and instability at these weight bearing structures. The price of SI belts are in reasonable range these days, average cost is about $40 USD. I know a lot of people who wear SI belts, and I've read some astonishing testimonials about it. There are many SI belts out there, but Serola SI Belt seems to be the best one as far as quality, comfort, and price are considered. Check out their website for more: http://www.serola.net/product_new_sac_be...

I think you can buy directly from their website at: http://serolabelt.com/new-serola-sacroil...

Hope it helps, good luck to you!

  3. I use a laptop as well, but it is propped on my lap so that the monitor is at eye level.  My chiropractor noticed my shoulder muscles were excessively tight a few months ago. He asked if I worked at a desk on a computer. When I told him I was using a lap top, he told me, "To avoid any posture and pain issues, to have the monitor/screen at eye level".  Since then, I've followed his advice and it works. No more headaches and no more shoulder pain.

When you have poor posture, over time, it does actually cause problems.  My husband is very tall, and the rest of his family is short. He spent so many years crouching around them (it's an unconscious thing that most tall people do), that he developed a curve in his spine. He's been under care for about three or four years now, and his spine is almost back to where it needs to be. (we chose chiropractic over surgery)

  4. Yes sitting in the wrong position does cause these problems. Try to invest in a comfortable chair or sit at a table.

The continual bent neck will give you headaches and strain your neck a lot. Do the right thing now. In a few years time it will be too late to change things.

  5. yes, after many years of bad posture you and you will have  pain so always have the correct seating and walk tall.

  6. A computer desk and chair is £15 in Morrisons.  Argos and Ikea have something similar so why not just buy a desk and chair.

  7. I think that you need to be careful and get yourself a good chair. One of the problems with laptops is that they dont have to be positioned in one place so people sit with them on the floor, on there beds crouched over and bent. In the future this could cause problems with poise and other things so yeah i think that you should get yourself a suitable computer desk chair just to be on the safe side. It should make your feet flat on the floor, have a straight back, and your head should be in line with the top of the screen. Thankyou for the two best answers btw, i thought that none of the other answers really provided you with much info so tried to give as much as i could!
