Question:

Will this charge me?

I let one of my customers use the phone at my shop to call their relative to come pick them up. I didn't realize that the area code was 501 until I accidently pressed redial on the phone. I live in Alabama, so will my phone company charge me for this call? And about how much will they charge? The customer was on the phone for about 5 minutes or less.

  1. Area code 501 is central Arkansas.  Unfortunately, it doesn't matter if it pointed to a cell phone that was there locally, the phone system sees it as a long distance call.  Unless your shop has a calling plan with free long distance, yes, you will be charged for the call.

  2. probably yes...

  3. yes
