Question:

Will this effect my credit?

My sis has just told me she does not intend to pay her credit cards since she is out of country and will be for a while. She does not care about her credit history.

Is this going to affect my credit? I just checked and I do not have any joint credit card with her, although I did in 2006 when I put her as an authorized user but since then she got credit in her own name and I had removed her as an authorized person. Also, she has had the same address as that of mine since she started building her credit (from May 2006 to Mar 2008). Now her mail goes to a PO box since she is out of country.

I am really worried if this will affect my credit. She has about $17000 in debt.

  1. It should not affect your credit.  However, you might want to invest in a credit monitoring service for the next few years so you can keep an eye on what's going on your credit reports and take action against incorrect data immediately.

  2. This will not affect your credit.  If something happens under your name, then yes it will.  I wouldn't sweet it, and I hope things work out with your sister.

  3. This shouldn'taffect you credit.  Her bad history has nothing to do with yours
