  1. He kept cutting the engine on and off during the caution laps and he got a caution on the last lap so he only had to coast to victory because he did run out. I think the controversy comes from his crew chief telling the radio guy in the pits that Junior was 6 laps short of making it and if you add the two that would have made him 8 laps short. The crew chief mislead. A driver who makes one less pit stop than the rest of the field will usually win. Elliott Sadler got his first win in the 21 at Bristol the same way.

  2. Does it matter what you guys think?  No.  Fact is, it's in the record book.  IF Kahne pushed him around the track, that's his fault.  And this Vickers stuff is garbage.

The pace car thing was the only thing that has the least bit of controversy.  But if I remember correctly, didn't someone else win one last year the same way?  Fuel mileage, passing the pace car?  Was it Biffle maybe @ Kansas?  Not certain on it, but I do remember a bunch of people talking about it...

Besides, that 88 team has proved all year how good they are at the fuel mile strategy...it's a viable racing strategy, like it or not.

  3. Probably - but it's not like he's the 1st driver to ever win on a gamble like that, ya know?  Look at how Gordon won that race because he beat the rain & all the other drivers who have won with 4th or 5th place cars at best - due to late-race cautions.  There's always that element of being in the right place at the right time.

  4. It doesn't matter either way because Jr won - period.

It isn't like Jr was the first driver to win on fuel strategy. This was very similar to a race last year with Greg Biffle in Kansas. It was considered controversial also.

  5. Michigan is always a fuel mileage race.  This was no different.  So what if Jr passed the pace car.  He was warned and dropped back behind just as the rules state.  As long as you go back to the correct spot you there is no penalty.

  6. Not at all because he will win again within 3 weeks, and all you haters will be back with the same sad stories.

Go to Nascar.com and look up who the winner was today and stop whining and making excuses. The deal is done, it's in the record book.

    Dale Jr won. Period.

  7. I think you saw a different race, or had a little to much Grandpas cough medicine.

NASCAR told Jr to stop, and get back behind the pace car.

    Kahne NEVER touched Jr.

  8. IDK But HE HAD THE CAR TO BEAT TODAY HE LED EVERY LAP AND IS PROVEN WHY HES THE CHAMPION OF NASCAR FOR 3 YEARS IN A ROW.

  9. Did you even watch the same race? Kasey NEVER touched the 88 or pushed him around the track. You better go back and look over some replays online. As far as the whole pace car deal goes, nascar told him to cut it out.

  10. Jr. better thank his lucky stars that the caution flag flew when it did. He may have finished P1 but he certainly didn't "win" the race. He was given the win, with no gas in his tank, by the mercy of the caution flag. Kahne would've eaten him alive on the backstretch. He's the golden child of NASCAR, so this is expected. He knows himself that this victory is going to be ridiculed.

  11. I hope so. I don't want his fans to get a big head about his staged win.

  12. I hope so Dale Jr. didn't win that race Brian Vickers did.

  13. Stop being a dork.....er...uh.....3 dorks answering your own lame questions you sadistic fool!

  14. Of course, there are going to be people(especially the media) who try to "taint" the win,but the fact still stands that it IS a win and he is not the first driver to ever win on fuel mileage.Kahne pushing Jr. to the line would have been perfectly legal(but if you review the video, you will see that he actually NEVER touched him) because all Jr. had to do was maintain a reasonable pace(no matter how he does it).At least he didn't get passed by his competitors before crossing the line like Greg Biffle did at Kansas last year.I personally hate fuel mileage races(even if my man wins, like at Phoenix this year) because it takes the on-track racing out of it in my opinion, but a win is a win.Congrats Jr.!

  15. Yes it will/ If that stud Kyle Busch had won on fuel milage the Junior fans would be guzzling their Haterade by the gallons. Just like they made fun of Danica's fuel-milage win. I guess we all need to make fun of Junior's fuel milage win now. Turnabout's fair play, right?

    :^)))))))))

  16. I think you must have been watching a different race than the rest of us!  Kasey did not push Jr around the track and he was warned about passing the pace car , if he did it again he would be parked.  As far as his win being surrounded by controversy forever, sure it will because it is Junior. All I can say to that is Dale Jr is not the first driver nor will he be the last to win a race using fuel-mileage stragedy.

  17. Yeah he did not deserve this.

Beth...I bet you said he would win within 3 weeks about 2 years ago after Richmond, too?

  18. no, all the haters tear drops will dry up soon enough and we'll all move on to sanoma
