Well yesterday i got suspended for having some tobacco at school. I'm only suspended until the 11th, but will this affect my permanent record or all that stuff?

  1. No way. In WI and IL anyway, you get a clean slate when you turn 18. Tabula rasa. Check your state and local legislation, but you should be good. This is why you do all your stupid stuff when your young, because after 18 they don't s***w around anymore.

  2. Ah, the old "permanent record" threat! Such an icon in American culture. But, no, this will have no long-term repercussions unless you are a repeat "offender."

  3. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Your "permanent record" really isn't all that permanent. After high school the only records that can be released by law are your grades, attendance, and coursework.

  4. Probably not. It may be used against you if you get in trouble in school again but after you graduate that isn't really a serious offense. It isn't like an illegal narcotic or anything. Such an offense is not going to be reported to colleges you apply to and even if it was it wouldn't affect your getting in or anything else after you get out in the real world.

  5. I don't think so......it's not that important anyway......its not like people arent going to hire in the future because you were caught with tobacco!!

i dnt think it was in my record!!!
