  1. maybe...u have to try it first xD

  2. sit-ups are not gonna help you, but shoulder-ups will. and the best way i can think of to make you higher and dunk is to do lungs, walking or jumping lungs, and trust me, it will help a lot. do like 100-200 a night and you'll see results fast. and skipping rope also helps.

  3. Do calve exersizes                  I heard walking on your toes helps (but i wouldn't recomend it bcuz it might be painful)     Look up calve exersizes i think

  4. Well first how are situps and pushups gonna help u jump? What you need to do is go buy some ankle weights and play your normal basketball with those on and the more you have around your ankles the higher you will jump when you take them off.

  5. woah there buddy... all those reps arent gonna help you. All they're gonna do is hurt you, maybe to the extent that you'll lose all your mobility. Take it easy. Do 100 toe raises in the morning, and 100 at night. And only every other day, cuse if you work the same group of muscles every day for extended periods of time, you'll feel sore and wont be able to do any sports for a week. And also, just plain pratice. Jump across the court and back. Bike. Anything that strenghtens your calves will help.

  6. You can jump rope, do the exercises you listed, do tuck jumps, and just practice getting up higher. You just need to practice more too.

  7. ok, here we go.

first off, doing 500 reps of those a day will get you hurt faster than anything.

here are some things that will help you dunk. im not talking about just putting the ball in the rim either, im talking about actually being able to do something up there. your squats are gonna help your jumping strength a bit. it will make you a powerful jumper, you're gonna need that at your height. sit-ups are good, but they don't build up every muscle in your stomach. look up exercises that will hit all parts of your stomach. also, do not ignore your back, its also important. plyometrics are also EXTREMELY effective. in fact if you were going to add anything to your workouts i would advise you to add some plyometric work outs to it. not only will it improve your leaping, it will also make you quicker.

consider doing weighted squats. not large amounts of weight, but just enough to build up strength.

last but not least, you need to perfect your jumping form, having good form is paramount to a leaper. your form can add at least 2" to your vertical.

***girl baller is right, lunges are extremely effective, they are killers too. coach made me do those one day, i think around a track (and weighted no less) , and i could barely walk up stairs the next day. if you look up plyometrics programs you will see them in there. make sure you stretch before doing these excercises. i would hate for you to tear something because you didnt warm up properly. also, make sure you give your body some rest, your body gets stronger after it repairs itself. youre doing more damage than good if you arent resting your body.

Your stomach does add inchs to your vertical girl baller.

  8. not unless your gonna belly flop dunk, whitch would be cool I never seen that before.

  9. idk.

    take ballet.

    seriously.

ive been in dance since i was four and i can jump to the top of the largest soccer goal.

    im 5"2.

    ta at.

  10. I'm reposting this because I just answered a very similar question...

At your age, you have a lot of opportunity for improvement, because you're still growing. Your body should respond to the right training very well.

Start doing squats. If you've never done them before, start with just your body weight. Go down till your thighs are parallel with the ground and always explode up as fast as possible. Carefully add weight as you get stronger. If you don't have any way to add weight, try to do 1 leg squats, still going down to parallel and exploding back up. You'll need to use something to hold onto for help at first. If you can get good at squats you'll be a much better jumper and all around athlete and set yourself up for other types of advanced training in the future. Calf raises are worth doing as well. When I was 13 I added a foot to my vertical in 6-7 months doing nothing but calf raises and squats

Having a strong core and upper body is good for all sports, so keep doing your situps and pushups.

  11. trampoline

  12. The best exercise for increasing your vertical leap is calf raises...that's when you stand on something elevated(a concrete block, step, etc) just using the front 1/3 of your feet...you then extend down as far as you can go and then extend upward as far as you can go...do as many reps as you can do daily...as they become easier do them while holding dumbells...Squats will also help.....also, like you suggested, do the situps and other exercises...they will strengthen your core muscles and make jumping easier.
