Dow Chemical Co. will raise its prices by up to 20 percent almost immediately to offset the soaring cost of energy, and the CEO of the chemical giant lashed out at Washington on Wednesday for failing to develop a sound energy policy.

  1. Unlikely to affect the stock.

    The market , in fact the whole world, knows how high oil price is - so it's no surprise.  And we all know that price increases are inevitable, Dow is just the bravest company that's jumping into the water before everyone else.

    By the time other firms do the same thing, Dow will be well on the way to where people are adapting, or have adapted, to the higher prices.


  2. They're just like everone else... anyone who has to buy gas, or go shopping... IF it hurts their value it would be verrrry temporary...everyone understands the situation... and the people who need what Dow provides are not going to lower their demands...( they will probably just increase THEIR prices also)... just facts of life.
