I was 5"5 1/2 and weighed 167lbs before the summer started and now I'm 146lbs. I want to be 125/130lbs by Janurary and I'm not sure if this will do it:

Monday: 1 hour and 20 minutes of swimming

Tuesday: 50 minutes of Pilates

Wednesday: Walking?

Thursday: 40 minutes of Ballet and 1 hour and 20 minutes of Charecter dancing

Friday: Rest?

Saturday: Walking?

Sunday: Rest?

Lol. The swimming and pilates are from 9/15 to 11/3, but after that I'm going to just swim for an hour every day and eliminate Pilates but keep the dancing year round.

Please tell me honestly if this will help me reach my goal. Plus, I will be eating better too.

  1. It should work. Swimming is an incredible excerise! Biggest thing to watch out for is how much your eating. Input should be less than your output.

There are 3,500 calories to create one pound of body fat. So to lose 40 pounds over in the next 4 months, you have to lose 10 pounds a month, or 2.5 pounds a week. This is a total realistic and safe approach! Good for you! 8750 calories is what you have to cut out of your diet a week, or burn off in working out. You burn about 400 calories per hour of average swimming. so your already using up 3000 calories in swimming alone. So you have to either workout more, or cut back 600 calories a day. Just make sure that no "empty" calories are eaten. Low fat, no simple carbs. Lot's of veggies! 3-4 servings of protien (and make sure you know what a seriving is!) Follow your four food groups and measure what you eat!

Hope that helps! And good luck! You can do it!
