Will this work for mounting a heavy bag?

if not anything similar or ideas to hang from basement beams?

Make sure you have a really good wooden beam. It's not what i use, But my friend has one and he has know problem with it.

yeah that should work, I use an heavy duty eye s***w from home depot.
