  1. I wouldn't rule it out, but it seems unlikely. If he did, it would probably be as a car owner, not a driver. If you follow all the news and can interpret what people say. I could see Stewart and Dale Jr owning a race team together that runs in the Cup series and fields an IRL team. Rumor mill is always running wild, but I could see that in a few years. The IRL could use some more good team owners.

  2. The question is: Will he fit in an IndyCar - he is a big boy now!

  3. Probably not. He has the dirt tracks to keep him occupied and his own outlaw team(s). If push came to shove he might consider starting an IRL team but I wouldn't hold my breath.

  4. While there is money in the IRL, it isnt nearly as big as it is in NASCAR and his biggest opportunities are still in NASCAR.  If Home Depot is staying with Tony, he will be able to land a huge contract with his next team.  He can use the IRL to stir the pot and keep people guessing.

I am sure he in interested in trying to win the 500 at Indy before he retires, but he is so much Bigger then what the IRL can offer right now.

It wll be fun to watch what happens.

  5. nope. as much as i would like the hoosier to come back to irl, he wont.  nascar has much mor money adn publicity than irl even though it isnt near as good.

  6. i don't think he will ever race in the league, but i could see him before he stops racing giving a shoot at the 500  one more time

  7. Why the h**l would he give up his multi-million dollar salary to go drive crapwagons?
