  1. I think that not only should the truckers strike but everyone that lives in the united states should stay home, not buy gas, not go to the grocery store or shop. As long as we continue to buy these things that we obviously can't live without they will continue to s***w us. Who would have ever thought we would be paying almost $5.00 for milk, $2.99 for eggs, $1.60 for bread and that's in smaller states. Come on people this is ridiculous we need to set a date and everyone stay at home for a couple days and not buy these things everyone has enough food in their homes to feed their families for a couple days. Let's all stand up for the little people that struggle everyday to even get by. If and when the truckers strike I will applaude them at least they are trying to do something to make a living without someone taking their hard earned money.

  2. they have tried striking before with no success so I would say they won't

  3. Actually, there is talk of truckers parking their trucks as they did in the 70's in order to force fuel prices down (which would also impact gasoline prices---when diesel goes down, gas goes down).  At least one trucker is trying to start something (http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseac...

I also called the Teamster's Union in DC and they told me they've been getting lots of phone calls from people who would support truckers if they went on strike. A trucker's strike would get government attention because the National Labor Relations Board is one of the agencies that regulate the trucking industry.  The best thing you can do is call the Teamster's Union at 202-624-9211 and voice your support.  If this country stops for a while, then the average car driver will be more willing to complain too, when we can't get anything. The trucking industry is responsible for 92% of everything we use every single day, so don't be afraid--use your American right to protest and support a trucker's strike.

The main reason prices are so high is because we keep paying.  Why?  Because we're too afraid to say anything because we don't want to lose our jobs, we don't want to go without, we don't want any lack in our lives.  The government knows this, the oil companies know this, and they will keep gouging us until we say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

I’ve been here chatter from all sizes of trucking companies. J.B. Hunt’s top exec. sold off thier stock and there is probably a good reason. I think a strike is going to happen in a big way. We need to come togather for a date, and most of all we need to stick togather. Talk to your buddies, owners, mechanics, anyone that just wont go to work for a couple days, We have to make a statement in a big way. For you drivers that cant afford to shut down I say you cant afford not to shut down. The shippers and recievers need to understand our position along with the major oil companies and our government. The time has come to say enough is enough to cheap freight, high fuel cost, Lumpers charging to much pallets and everything else they take our money for in this industry. So please show your support sign my guest book and ill keep making contacts. myspace.com/cartracer24

  6. What are they gonna do pull the semi themselves?  They are stuck paying high fuel costs just like the rest of us.

  7. YES THE STRIKE BEGINS APRIL 1ST.....SPREAD THE WORD THERE IS NO REASON WHY FUEL SHOULD BE THIS HIGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. YES. A movement is already in process.

Everyone that is tired of fuel costs needs to jump on board, for more information go to:

                                                                           Americanfuelconsumersmovement.com

We need this to be nationwide, Everyone needs to tell someone. whether it be on CB, Telephone, Computers, Word of mouth, or whatever means of communication

                                   LETS DO THIS

  9. I'm sure some drivers will make an attempt to change things.  That being said,  Those who say company drivers don't care because we don't pay for the fuel or maintenance are just showing there ignorance.  The issue at hand is the high cost of everything we as Americans are paying for our daily right to live.  This Country is going to h**l in a hand basket.  The Politicians don't give a rats *** about you and me the consumer.  Why?  Because so many of us keep on spending like there is no tomorrow.  You want us truck drivers to park our rigs...How about you park your personal vehicles on weekends and don't travel so d**n much.  I will gladly stop my truck, if you, "Joe Citizen" respect what the Truckers of this nation provide for you on a daily basis.

Everything is off the hook price wise...Milk, Bread, Meat, etc...not just the fuel prices.  Granted if the cost of fuel goes down...so does the cost of hauling, thus in-turn the cost of manufacturing, distributing, and warehousing.  Problem is you can't get two people in general to agree on anything...not just Truck Drivers.  Don't single us out.  How about every person in the Nation goes out and parks his/her vehicle on the Interstates, highways, and major local intersections to make our point.  Don't say truck drivers won't stick together...the people of this Country won't stick together period.   You want freedom, you want fairness...than practice what you preach.  Stand up for your Country...Don't make others do it for you.

  10. no, because there is no way every single drive will agree to strike at one time. Rember is trucks stop the freight will stop and this means that gas will not del., food will not be in stores....... etc.......

  11. Probably not!!!!! Something needs to be done, but trying to get truckers nowadays to band together and strike will never work. For one...the company drivers don't give a d**n about the price of fuel...they don't have to pay for it, as long as they get a check every payday, thats all they care about. The bigger companies can afford to pay a little higher priced fuel...(even though most of them pay only the cash price, through a deal they have worked out with the truckstops) knowing most independents can't afford the higher priced fuel

hoping to drive them under( which some have already parked their trucks and went to work for companies)...the trucking industry as a whole would not have to strike, just the trucks that deliver fuel (deisel, gas, propane) when the fueling stations run out of fuel, trucks stop rolling, cars stop rolling, industries stop....basically the whole country stops.
