Will try my best not to let Kumble’s absence be felt, leg-spinner Amit Mishra – Cricket News Update
Indian leg-spinner, Amit Mishra, is determined to fill the void left by legendary spinner Anil Kumble’s retirement, back in 2008.
The 29-year-old right-arm leg-spinner from Delhi, who is playing for Deccan Chargers in the ongoing season five of the cash rich Indian Premier League, said that though it is difficult to fill the void left by the Indian leg-spin great, he will try his level
best not to let Kumble’s absence be felt.
"Anilbhai has served Indian cricket for more than 15 years,” said the leggie during a media encounter in Kolkata on Monday. “It's difficult to fill the void overnight. But I'm working hard on my bowling. I will try my best not to let Anilbhai's absence felt,"
Mishra vowed.
The Men in Blue have been struggling in the spin bowling department since Kumble’s retirement in 2008. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750’s spin woes were compounded by Bhajji’s loss of form since
the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 World Cup 2011.
Harbhajan’s unimpressive world cup campaign was followed by a struggling tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Piyush-c82317 Chawla,

Mishra, however, has been impressive in the domestic circuit with 20 wickets in the last 10 matches, across all the three formats of the game, and is now looking forward to impress at the international level as well. The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 spinner revealed that he has
been taking guidance from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Anil-Kumble-c44737.
"When I feel the need, I talk to Anilbhai. He has really been a good support. He has been my idol. I am giving my best. Hope I do well by God's grace," said Mishra.
"Every sportsperson has ups and downs in life. But I feel the best is yet to come. I am eagerly waiting for an opportunity to come my way," he added further.
Mishra debuted in the international cricket in April 2003, playing a One Day International against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 in Dhaka. To date, he has played 15 ODIs claiming 19 wickets at an average of 30.26. His Test stats are far impressive where he has 43 scalps
