  1. First while dark chocolate or bakers chocolate is the worst, even milk chocolate can hurt your dog. Two licks is probably not a problem but signs of chocolate toxicity are shaking, restlessness, muscle tremors, vomiting, diarrhea, and increased urination. Also the "chocolate" used in dog treats is carob chips.

  2. No, your dog will be fine. It was only two licks, right? Then your dog will be totally fine. Just make sure this doesnt happen all the time.

  3. No, since it's not pure chocolate and she only got a little. Try to keep your food out of your dog's reach, though.

  4. Next time, keep the chocolate ice cream to yourself.

The truth is chocolate contains theobromine that is toxic to dogs in sufficient quantities. This is a xanthine compound in the same family of caffeine, and theophylline.

The good news is that it takes, on average, a fairly large amount of theobromine 100-150 mg/kg to cause a toxic reaction. Although there are variables to consider like the individual sensitivity, animal size and chocolate concentration.

Your Chihuahua will be ok but please be careful next time. It can cause serious damage to its heart.

    Good luck.

  5. "Chocolate" for dogs is most likely carob, not chocolate.  Chocolate, and raisins for that matter are poisonous for dogs.  Check with your vet.

    Two licks won't hurt them.

  6. No. when i went to this dog bakery, there were treats with chocolate chips and frosting. my dog ate them and was fine.  your dog will be fine

  7. Do you mean "l**k"? As long as she is acting fine, she'll probably be okay.
