Will txt messages still go through if the recievers phone service is turned off?

well my friend had her phone service turned off for like a week and i was sending her txt messages and there was still a checkmark by the sent messages cuz i know there is no checkmark by the sent txt if a phone is just turned off normal why is this

yea it will but they won't get it until they turn the phone on and let it be received which may take a second. The check mark may not be showing up because you aren't waiting for it to send for sure. Wait until it says "sent successfully" or something like that before you exit out of your message.

It should.........at least it does for me and i have a sprint phone
