Will updating my iphone 3G make it lose its jailbreak?

i recently got an iphone 3G and put a lot of effort into jailbreaking it, but i was wondering if i updated to version 2.0.2 will it un-jailbreak?

  1. Almost certainly. In fact, it may even "brick" the phone, which means that the update would cause the phone to be unable to even start up.

    I'd wait until 2.0.2 is jailbroken, then undo your current jailbreak, upgrade to 2.0.2 and re-jailbreak it.


  2. it will brick your phone if you want to upgrade restore your phone on iTunes before you update and you will lose your jailbreak

  3. Yes if you upgrade to 2.0.2 via iTunes it will un-jailbreak your iPhone.  You should never upgrade your firmware via iTunes unless you have already confirmed that there is a working jailbreak.  Check out the source below they always keep you updated.
