Hi, i recently got tiscali broadband which is up to 8mb, i was told by tiscali it would be 4mb because of the area where i live. I am supposed to get a connection on the 9th of july but after seeing the DSL light lit up on my own modem i decided to guess the user name & password ( same as my email ). In doing so i have a connection but its only 0.8mb.

I have a connection and have done since the 3rd of july and the speed isnt increasing at all.

note. i had orange broadband a while ago and that was 4mb too.

Can anyone HELP.

TY

  1. No it will speed up in time, what they do when first enabling broadband over a phone line is slowly crank up the speed until it becomes too noisy (errors). By the 9th it should be stable at its optimal speed.

Also reset the modem every few hours and turn it off completely when not in use.

    So don't panic.
