  1. I'm running a 54 MB/S wireless connection right now and I can host a game and everyone in the room has 4 or 5 bars for their connection strength on CoD:4. I tried to get a hardwire, but Time Warner Cable sucks donkey chodeling.

  2. Shouldn't make one bit of difference. The only difference in Cat5e and Cat6 cables is that the Cat 6 cable has more twists per inch within the cable to keep noise down, usually not an issue in most homes.  So unless the cable is 100 foot or more, I don't think you will be able to tell the difference - your system won't.

  3. Not at all. While the signal will go from your PC to your router and then your modem (or just to the modem) faster, your internet speed is probably 1-5 mb/s. As an analogy, think of it this way: If you ride your bike to the end of your driveway and then walk a mile, will you walk the mile any faster if you ride your bike faster to the end of the driveway?
