No that will not happen. the download speed only depends on the bandwidth of your broadband connection. it does not matter how many files you download.

the download speed per file may come downor up as the bandwidth is being shared by the files  but the total download speed won't

Yes your overall download rate will be slower.

The more upload you can give other peers, the more download you will get back from them.  With several torrents running your upload will be spread thinner.

Also, there is a lot of bandwidth used up in communications and there would be more of that with more torrents.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Because your Internet is limited to a certain speed. And if more are downloading, the slower it gets to squeeze in all the downloads at once. Best to do 1 or 2 downloads at a time
