Will virtual realities in the future allow us to experience senses currently unknown to us?

As virtual technology becomes better and better, will we soon be able to experience senses other than the conventional sight, sound, smell, touch, ad taste? Senses that right now we can't even imagine? What will this be like and how close are we?

No person on Earth, not even the most brilliant of neuroscientists, can give you a certain answer to this question based on current knowledge of the brain. One thing for certain is that we're not close.
