Will walking a mile uphill everyday help with my swim training?

As in walking home from school. Will it help improve my swim times, etc?

  1. not really. it mite help you be able to wim for a longer period of time without getting tired, but it wont make u swim faster


  2. walking up hill will increase your cardio level depending on how fast/intensity . I would reccomend running. As a swimmer i noticed how big of a difference running made in my leg strenght and cardio capacity.

  4. walking a mile uphill everyday will give you stronger leg muscles.  the only thing that will help you with your swim times is swimming.  get in the pool and do laps.

    Walking targets the lower body muscles, including muscled in the legs and feet.

    Swimming also works the lower body muscles, but also uses some of the upper body muscles, including muscles in the arms and waist.

    So, walking shouldn't be the only exercise you use to get better at your swimming, but it will help build strength in the lower body, which will help you kick faster, and possibly improve your swimming times.

    Try excercises such as weightlifting and push ups to work out your upper body, so that you'll have a balance in upper and lower body strength.

  14. stronger legs can only improve your swim time. So yeah, it definitely couldn't hurt.
