I've relized that I've been re-infecting myself with pink eye through my eyeliner. Even though I've thrown it out- I still have to deal with the infection.

I guesed that the first thing I should do is clean off teh makeup, so i washed it all off... but will washing my eyes once every few hours help speed up my healing time?

I have no drops I can use..... so I would love to know any tricsk that would help me heal quickly!

Thanks for your time!

  1. Rinse your eyes just a couple of times a day.

Pink eye can show up when you least expect it, and it is very contagious. There is more than one type of pink eye, and how you treat it depends on the type. If it is bacterial you need antibiotic ointment or drops. There is no particular treatment for viral pink eye. If it is an allergy that is causing your difficulty you may need anti-inflammatory medication or antihistamines. Frequent hand washing is crucial to prevent spreading the virus or bacteria, depending on which type you have.   There is also something called CLARE, or contact lens induced acute red eye. Sleeping in contacts makes the eye more susceptible to inflammation/infection.

  2. Washing your eyes when you wash your face in the morning and nighttime will work just fine. Washing your eyes repeatedly can actually make it worse. Pink eye goes away fastest with prescription drops, and I really recommend getting some.
