Will we be allowed to share a double bed in Rome even though we aren't married?

My boyfriend and I are going to Rome for a week. We're looking at hotels right now and it just crossed my mind - a very silly thing, but I have to check these things out. Since we aren't married, will hotel owners have a problem with us sharing a double room?

  1. I haven't yet been to Italy, but unless you're staying at a convent it will not be a problem.

  2. not a problem at all!!  the only place where they're this conservative is in the vatican city.... and i'm pretty sure you're not going to find a hotel in there! ;)

  3. there is no problem but you will have to pay for 2 people regardless in Italy is not like the States that you can a guests- and you dont have to tell them if you are married or not

  4. Just back from Rome myself and stayed with my girlfriend no problems at all. Not really connected but ladies in Rome visiting religious attractions need to cover their shoulders with a cardigan or similar as a respect thing though. Have a great time, we did! Loved the Trevi fountain the best.

  5. A very silly thing!!!!

    Are you joking???

What makes you think that we’re so conservative and …mediaeval?

    I don’t really understand!

Hotel owners will never ask you anything about your marital status, believe me!

We’re exactly like you: we travel around Italy and sleep together with friends and boyfriends even though we aren't married!

It’s not written in our ID who we’re married to!
