the world eventually will end but not anytime soon. the sun lives for 100,000 years so there is still about onother 50,000 years left in it and by then there may be a new giant burning ball of gass that will replace our sun

people been saying the world is going to end and it never does I think the world is never going to end if the world get better and people stop killing each and doing crime if the world just becomes nicer then it's probaly not going 2 end

I think you're talking about the Mayan prediction based on Mayan calendars. I heard it was 2012. I wouldn't worry about the world ending so soon. If it were true and a "real" threat people would be a lot more panicked, don't you think?

The Mayan calendar ends on December 23 2012.  I don't think anyone knows for sure why they chose that date.  If you remember, there was a lot of speculation that the world would end at the turn of the century in 2000.  And here we still are.  So I don't think they know and even if they did, what could we do about it anyway?

I don't think the Mayans actually said the world was going to end December 21, 2012. I believe they called it "Doomsday." The meaning of that is really up for interpretation.

It is December 21st 2012. There actually IS logic to that date, there wouldn't be to the 23rd though. On the 21st is when the Earth will make a complete rotation. This happens only every couple thousand years. Most don't realize because they don't consider the tilt to the axis. So they don't consider that the Earth actually wobbles. Also our Solar System will be at the center of the galaxy which only happens every couple thousand years as well.
