Will we ever a see a mega-fight at yankee stadium again?

Question

It has been over 30 years since there has been a fight at yankee stadium.

There are plent of mega-fights that can happen there.

What do yall think? What possible mega-fights can happen at yankee stadium?

George Steinbrenner was not happy that his grass was destroyed when the last fight took place there in 1976.There will never be a fight there .

No......you couldn't even fill 20, 000 seats at Madison Square Garden  so...how can you fill ( as they  did in the old days ) 60,000 seats at Yankee Stadium ? ---- I am a New Yorker who is old enough to remember  going to the old MSG on 49th St. + Sunnyside Gardens in Queens & hearing about St. Nicholas Arena & Eastern Parkway Arena. ---- When NY had the Friday Night Fights on TV in the '50s & 60s----TV killed off these smaller clubs just as it ( HBO ) has done now with Yankee Stadium.

If Cotto/Margarito don't fight at Yankee Stadium, I think the legacy ends, and they will tear down the old stadium without another mega fight being held there.  I hope it happens at Yankee Stadium, it would be a great way to close the old park.

You have to remeber tho, back in the day when they had

those MEGA fights in yankee stadium it was a

different time back then,

there was no tv or internet

and many sports still wernt in full swing yet,

But to anwser your question, No boxing will never be as big as it was back then, mostly because that was the

GOLDEN AGE of boxing, it was in its prime back then

Yes we will definetly see a mega fight in Yankee stadium before its said and done but it wont be Cotto/Margarito(July 27) were gonna have to wait till after Sept/Oct when ever the Yanks season is over. I could see Cotto being the showcase there it is in the bronx with a big puerto rico following maybe aginst Hatton to make the trip, not as long for his fans or maybe even Hatton-Malinaggi.Hopkins spoke of his desire to fight there prior to the Calzaghe fight and Floyd has also shown intrest of fighting in New York one day.

Probably not. The reason is always MONEY........NYC has Federal taxes, a state tax and a city tax too. Ali/Frazier discovered just how much was taken from their 2.5 million purses in thei 1971 bout. NYC was the mecca then, but the casinos of Las Vegas became more user friendly.

to be more specific than the guy who answered before me, the answer is no, well at least in the original yankee stadium cuz they might have one in the new one but as for the one that stands now, no and the reason i say that  is because i remember hearing that they were gonna have a hockey game in it to be the last game ever in yankee stadium which is stupid
