  1. i think thats great. non smokers shouldnt have to be breathing in all your smoke! you'll have enough other places to smoke, like outside, or at your home. ;)

  2. This is a major health issue.

If you smoke, you are at risk of getting cancer (and the costs and disabilities involved) or giving someone else cancer.

Would you want the responsibility of having someones death on your conscience, maybe even that of a child of your own?

If you knew someone who died of lung cancer through smoking you would not even ask this question!!

Put it in another context, do you drive or cross the road blindfolded?

Smoking can be just as dangerous to others as well as yourself!!

  3. i think the answer is one you already know and that is no it will not change but what worries me more is how far will goverments go it all seems to be looking like big brothers watching you . what will be next that they will say no too .Are we children? do we have to have someone tell us?

  4. i think it is a brilliant law for once the government has got something right long may it continue

  5. i think its good where children are but to ban it from pubs and bingo halls ect its a disgrace surly its up to adults where we smoke and when we smoke and up to other adults whether they want to stand beside smokes or no sadly i can not ever seen it been revoked hence y i do not  bother going out no more

  6. I Hope Not

  7. I don't think that the law will be changed, even by other parties in government.  The project to marginalise smoking is well in progress.

In Ireland, many pubs have "indoor patios": there is a central part of the pub without a roof that allows people to smoke in that section.  New pubs might incorporate this design to get around the law.

Personally, I find the law annoying as a smoker, but I agree with it because it will reduce smoking levels in the years to come.  I think a better law could have been introduced, where a limited number of pubs would be allowed to remain smoking pubs.

  8. NOOOO SMOKING ENDAGERS YOUR HEALTH DO U WANT LUNG CANCER YOU IDIOT

  9. i doubt it.......

  10. No

  11. No not at all.

  12. No it won't happen. Smoking is socially unacceptable as well as a filthy habit. The best thing is that people who smoke are slowly killing themselves...and passive smoking suffered by those in close proximity is almost as bad. It was the very best thing to have happened in the public arena.

  13. No - the government wont back down on this law. Why should they? It's about health and pubs etc have been brilliant to go into since the ban.

  14. it is a great law,

it's brill to be able to go to a pub or club and not smell of smoke afterwards!!

  15. lets be like the french    ignore the laws they dont like or agree with

  16. its a great law. dont be selfish, no one wants to smell your smoke.

  17. ha ha ha ha ha ha no you wont some of us like to look after our lungs thank you

  18. Best thing this government ever did!!

  19. Hopefully not.

  20. It will be like this everywhere in the whole wide world. I think it sucks, there should be one area where we can light uo.

  21. I like it.................don't like my clothes smelling...............

  22. no thank god. the best thing they ever did was bring the ban into order.

  23. None of us should build our hopes up. If anything it's going to get worse. Britain is becoming a nanny state.

  24. Just on the smell, it a good law.

I am an ex smoker and only in the last 2.5 years have I noticed what non-smokers suffer, when I return from smokers houses after working there my clothes stink of their smoke, it is very unpleasent.

I hear a lot of people complaining now of b.o. and how 'orrible body odours are in our pubs, they reckon now there is no smoking the smell of the great unwashed is worse :-)

  25. There's about the same chance of the law being changed to allow drink driving again.

Back in the 60's people were infuriated that they could no longer get blind drunk and then drive home, yet the law makes perfect sense now. I think the smoking laws will be looked upon in the same way in years to come.

I fully support the smoking ban in public buildings.

  26. NO THANKFULLY

    a great law.

  27. No it's unlikley to ever be allowed again....legally! However one of the places i have seen where the smoking law makes no sense is the Shisha bars in Edgeware road london. Here is a place you go to do nothing but smoke. I love the idea of a Shisha bubbling away. In the summer, it's ok. Sitting out side the bar and puffing away on one of these devices is great. But tonight, you'd really want to have a puff because it is bloody freezing. These bars really should have been excempt as smoking is their business and is part of a communities social scene. However make it ok for one group, and some others are going to abuse it as well. The law was bought in for the protection of bar staff and similar who could not control the environment they work in. For the sake of a few Shisha bars, I think the rights of the many outweigh those of the few..

  28. i am a smoker well trying to quit. i agree with this law because it is not fare how other people who do not smoke have to put up with the f*g smoke around them. I think the law will stay in force

  29. probably not, because it's getting that way here in the states.

but now I hear my friends say it's great to go to the bar and not have to smell like an ashtray when I get home.

  30. i dnt no, i hope we will be able to again. i work in a pub n we are loosing customers because of it. i mean why do us smokers have to go out side for a f*g. i hope it will be legal again. i hate it that we have to stop wat we r doing to go outside and have a f*g.  all i want is a quite drink out n be able to ave a f*g inside. i dnt no wether the government will back down on this law i hope they do

  31. lol

    i hope not!!!!
