Question:

Will we ever see $2 / gallon on gas again?

What would it take and is it plausible, even if we do our own drilling?

If we do our own drilling what makes us think that greed won't reach the "our" people. All the world will be buying from us if we are that much cheaper than the Middle East. The whole supply and demand thing which means middle and lower class are the ones suffering.

  1. No. However we will have the equivalent of it. Plug-in cars will cost us about a $1 a gallon. Oil will go down because there will be a lot less demand.

  2. no

  3. Never....Exxon just posted 11 billion in earnings this quarter....think about that.

Terrorists have learned how to slowly destroy the US, and thats by hitting the economy, threaten war, blow up a pipeline, or start talking about about harm and the barrel prices go up.

Amercians started using less fuel, so the demand decreased, and in 1 week the barrel prices went down almost $5 per barrel, imagine if we do this for a month or 3 months....OPEC will have to drop the price to keep up with production. Its so simple to fix, but the rich continue getting richer, keeping us from getting ahead.

  4. Not in your life time.

  5. i think we will see an alternative fuel before gas prices go down.

  6. It's possible, but only if the demand decreases, and oil speculation stops.

  7. You will never see it again with this bunch of jerks in congress. They can't agree on anything. They could care less what you and I want or need.

  8. I think the best hope would $2.50 gallon, if there is a national drilling program included offshore and new onshore exploration and development.    You can subsidize the price to $0.75 gallon.  But, supply demand is not anti-middle and lower class pricing mechanism. It is the way you price any product.  The confusing aspect of the energy debate is whether alternative energy can be brought to the mass market for a dollar per unit that is affordable by the general population.  I think most of the plans are on the drawing table with respect of a delivery stystem.  No, the U.S. will never be an exporter of petroleum products secondary to our use of 25 percent of the world's market supply.  Further, the typical motorist cannot afford to dump the family's present vehicle to get into a battery powered car.  I really don't think you can avoid nuke power for electricity as a key along with drilling.  Green energy is not going to be less expensive.  Or has not proven to be at the present time.

  9. No,

The oil companies will never let it go lower, Even if they could they now see how many can afford it over it and they will go why bother putting it lower when the peasants can pay 2.00. after all why have something for sale for 1.99 when you can have it at 2.00

  10. who cares i'll pay $20 for gas stop complaining

  11. Yes, when we begin drilling for oil we already know is under us. This will cause supplies to go up, driving demand down.
