No, because we do not have enough domestic oil or the capacity to drill it fast enough for our demand. We can however find alternatives for much of our oil use and only use a fraction of what we do now... but for that to happen, America is going to have to lose its capitolist ego and begin thinking neccessity over performance.

We are not dependent on foreign oil.  We have plenty of oil, what we're doing is using theirs and saving ours.  The problem is OPEC.  You see, they have no refineries, we do, if you want gas prices to drop back to nothing, we should sell them wheat and corn for the same price as a barrel of oil, they need wheat and corn because you can't grow c**p in sand, nothing will grow in sand.  Sell them wheat and corn for $150.00 a bushel and you'll see how fast the oil prices drop.
