  1. Not from an insurance company.

  2. no and you will be lucky to get blue book.  insurance will pay you actual cash value if the car is totaled...no more.  this is usually less than blue book.

  3. No, and you will not get blue book either.  You are entitled to the Actual Cash Value(replacement minus depreciation) only.  To get a rough idea on what you can expect, go to nadaguides.com and use the low value.  Most insurance companies us outside companies like CCC to determine the value of the vehicle in your geographic region.

Make sure the claims rep has all of your options and the mileage is correct.  Find out what condition they ran it through as, Excellent, Good, Fair or Poor.

  4. No, the rule is that you cannot profit from a loss, whether it was your fault or someone else's. So you will get book value on the car, and that's all.

  5. There are 2 parts to getting reimbursed for an "Excellent" car.   First is that anyone who looks at it (except for the crashed part) can see that it is clean and well-maintained.

2nd is that you have all the service records for the vehicle from the day it was new.  If you bought it used, it was important for you to ask the previous owner for these.

If you satisfy both points, you can get more for your car.  The insurance adjuster will listen to you.  They don't want to cheat you.

What are you going to buy next?  Is it time for something brand new and shiny?
