Question:

Will we go round in circles?

Look Up

Staring at the base of the wall

Awed by the task that lay ahead

In my mind it looked so small

Now I’m struck with fear and dread

I knew it was something that I could do

My plan was so neatly laid

Or did I bite more than I could chew

What was this choice that I made

A simple life with a simple plan

It was an easy choice for me

For I thought I was a simple man

How wrong could I possibly be

Like all people I had thoughts and dreams

Wondrous words marched through my head

Dragged myself through my plots and schemes

Not unscathed but still not dead

I wonder if I’ll pass this test

Will I know if I succeed

How do I try and judge my success

Is it measured in how much I bleed

  1. Simple words, stated simply, but carrying a message deep.

No, I predict you will go straight ahead, full steam matey.....no more circles for you! Keep taking the spinach supplements Popeye! Strong man of letters. (that was letters, not lettuce!)

  2. Life is never simple,

Nor was it meant to be,

    For there are many hurdles

    Of which you will agree.

Each one a little higher as

    we pass along Lifes way,

    At times we feel

    like turning back

but  know thats not the way.

    So struggle on

    Is what we do,

    In our search

    for survival.

    And when we know,

    We've done our best

    Tis then we know we've

    passed the test,

    And are no longer,

    Liable.

  3. nice

  4. well : it is simple Poetry that has been written  of course I

know one you would read from Arts & Humanities

best Pomes By Robert Frost yes he wrote alot as a Author

  5. wow thats a good poem!!!!

did u make it up by urself if u did bravo!!!

  6. The wall is not so daunting

    nor the path ahead

    put your best foot forward

    in an even steady tread.

    Simplicity in Essenes is not

    what it might seem

especially when the words fall out

    in a steady stream

    The best made plans

    are often not

    the ones that lead us

    or direct the plot.

    The test you passed

    You did succeed

    So surely you

    Don't have to bleed.

..could not resist the words coming casually to my fingertips as my creative juices have been quite minimal of late.

I enjoy your poem very much

  7. Isn't that the eternal question?  How do you write of passion, love, danger, horror without a little experience, even if it is vicarious.  And HP, you were never a simple man...hee.
