  1. Since Jews-for-Jesus was founded by a Baptist Minister and she is Baptist I see nothing wrong with her view. I am a Conservative Jew. A Jew-for-Jesus is not a Jew but a Christian. You cannot have it both ways, either you believe in Christ or you don't. That Minister is out to save the Jews from themselves for their obvious lack of faith in Jesus. I for one do not follow that drivel. I believe that everyone has the choice in life to follow the religious path that they want. Just stay off of mine.

    Bill

  2. The Christians that make up 'jews4jeezus' are the most aggressive and deceptive of ALL the Messianic groups.

They caused my 15 yr old cousin no end of confusion and distress after posing as orthodox Jews, gaining entry to her HOME, and pretending to be discussing Judaism with her before then warning her that her family would 'face h**l eternally' if she didn't get them to 'accept christ'.

Is anyone REALLY going to say that they behave ethically?

The founder of 'jews4jeezus' is Martin Meyer, he is an ORDAINED BAPTIST MINISTER. He has nothing to do with Judaism. Nor does he get to come along and REdefine Judaism to suddenly include worshipping Christ.

Meyer has OPENLY STATED his desired aim of converting Jews to Christianity.

    Don't believe me?

Here, read some of his comments for yourselves:

Abridged from: "Holy Terror" by Flo Conway and Jim Seigelman

In a document entitled "What Evangelical Christians Should Know About ‘MESSIANIC JEWS’, Martin Meyer, founder of ’jewsforjesus’, again reveals his goal:

‘We define ourselves as evangelical fundamentalists and we seek the cooperation of individuals and Christian bodies meeting this description…We believe in affiliation with a local church and being accountable to the church for service and discipline. We will uphold the local church wherever we can.

‘We consider ourselves an arm of the local church. We are primarily evangelists and we are always mindful that we should not usurp the authority of the local pastor. As we win and disciple  (convert)  Jewish people, we urge them to take their place in a local evangelical church or establish a congregation and call their own minister. Our duty is to aid the church at large and we work as an arm of that body to gather in the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel.’

In the British NEW STATESMAN magazine, Martin Meyer said in a recent interview:

‘In the UK we are part of the Evangelical Alliance; the evangelical wing of the church. We will often be giving conferences at churches of various denominations, Baptist, Anglican, Pentecostal to name but a few.’

  3. I've already heard enough from and about Palin to guarantee I won't be voting Republican again barring some exceptionally severe s***w-up on the part of Democrats. Her views on J4J won't change my mind.

  4. I had no idea, so thanks for letting me know this info.

I think the problem here with many Christians, including Elle above, is that they mean well, they are just not educated about the real intentions of these groups.

  5. Sarah Palin is a Christian. It's not surprising that her church would invite a Jews-for-Jesus representative to speak. My own church (a traditional Baptist church) has had Jews-for-Jesus guest speakers. It is NO BIG DEAL. We have a lot in common (Jesus!) By this argument, it would be difficult for any Christian to get the Jewish vote.

P.S. Jews for Jesus is not some radical, dangerous group as is being implied here.

    Visit their website at http://www.jewsforjesus.org

    On their home page:

The gospel is a message of love and reconciliation, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentiles, according to Romans 1:16. But there would be no need for the gospel if all was well with the human race—so when we talk about the gospel, we cannot avoid the mention of sin and God's judgment.

David Brickner was recently a guest speaker at Wasilla Bible Church, the church Sarah Palin attends. Please be aware that his statements regarding God's judgment have been published out of context in a way that we feel is misleading. David holds the traditional evangelical belief that God judges all people for sin, and that Jesus is the solution for the sins of everyone who will repent and receive God's gracious forgiveness.

  6. Only if someone asks her. The article doesn't indicate what her views are.

  7. WOW!!

Thanks to all my "Friends" for starring this question.

    I had no idea...

As one wise person said - ALL Fundamentalist churches/cults/beliefs are dangerous. I believe that anyone, or group, who tells me I MUST do something or believe a certain way (their way-of course) or I'll go to h**l is full of it.

The left-wingers will undoubtedly find out about this and question her - she'll spin it. We need O'Reilly sometimes.

And I was worried about the abortion bit. This group is so scary it makes the "Right to Life" movement sound like the Girl Scouts.

I've probably insulted everyone - I don't mean to insult ANYONE. I believe you are entitled to believe and follow your own beliefs just DON'T foist them on me...

  8. Talk about belonging to a dangerous church!!!

  9. Probably not.

  10. What do you think?  Of course not!  But the real question is do you believe that if anything happened to John McCain while in office, that this woman is ready to become President of the US?  I do not question her "experience"...that word has been rendered useless by it's overuse.  I question her judgement and I question her ability to understand foreign policy and its ramifications.  And I question John McCain's judgement in picking her as his VP.  There were other more serious women candidates he could have picked such as Kay Bailey Hutchinson.

  11. Will you see Obama eating during the day during Ramadan?

  12. That's what goes on inside most churches, and we Jews aren't a big campaign issue. (Although Israel is on the radar.)

I'm still going to vote for McCain, because I vote for the person on top of the ticket, not the one at #2.

  13. Oh,I hope so, so that we can be sure they don't get one single Jewish vote.

She makes me sick on so many levels, but this one tops them all.

And "Elle" (lovely name, by the way), yes they *are* a dangerous radical group- as a matter of fact you've summed it up nicely with that phrase.

THeir goal is to finish what Hitler started- to destroy the Jewish people. The only difference is they will do it by smiling and throwing a few hebrew or yiddish phrases at lonely secular seniors or students who were deprived of a Jewish education, instead of through violence, starvation and murder.

    For now.

They are, in fact, quite a dangerous cult. As a baptist, you need not speak for Jews.- WE know who our enemies are. When a group comes along that wishes to remove YOUR children from THEIR and YOUR religious and cultural heritage, that YOUR family has died for, THEN we will see if it is "no big deal".What do you mean "we have a lot in common (jezis)"- perhaps you don't know, there is no jezis in Judaism.

  14. I'm not surprised. She is a fundamentalist and they are always dangerous, no matter what religion.

  15. Obama is not legally African-American as he claims but Arab-American and Islam still considers him to be a Muslim. Surely Americans are entitled to take this into account when they are voting for the next President of America.
