about a month ago i stared running every day, starting at 1.6 miles and gradually working my way up to 3. this is not my first time running though, this past school year i did cross country and track. while running this summer i suddenly experienced pain at the bottom of my knees. so i did some recearch and figured out the source of my pain was most likley my running on the street, running in run down shoes, and running every day. so i started running evevr third day, got some good shock absorbing shoes, and assumed that running on the street with them would be ok for my knees. but my knees still hurt a little so i decided i will start running on the grass, strengthen my knees, quads, hamstrings, and thighs. but my question to you is will wearing these knee braces while running help my knees heal and GET MY KNEES STRONGER? and CAN I STILL RUN WHILE WEARING THESE BRACES? well thats it and thanks!

  1. A brace will only support your knee.  It won't help heal it. I have seen some people running while wearing a brace, so it may be possible.  If it keeps on bothering you, you should go see a Dr.

  2. Stop running and rest it, till it starts getting better, wearing a brace long term can weaken the muscles...(then you start to rely on it) let it heal naturally

  3. stop running.

it is one of the very worst things you can do to your cartilage.

If you don't believe me, study it. I have. I stopped running the first night of reading.
