Will xbox live work on satilite internet?

Question

I might get satllite internet from directv or dish network and i wan't to play on live!

With speeds at 500Kbps download and 128Kbps upload.

My friend has cable at speeds at 320Kbps and 128Kbps and he dosen't lag at all!

Also what is the latency/ping for satllite on xbox live?

yes it will work. how well it works depends on the company. i have had satellite internet in 2 of my houses in the mountains and i would occasionally lag out of COD4 and Halo3. if some one else was on the internet forget about playing at all.

It'll work, but will probably lag during online play.
