Mets- a good shot but it's far from guaranteed with our bullpen.  Yankees- nope.

Mets: Yes, they have a 1 1/2 game lead in the NL East, they are probably the most talented and balanced team in that division. They have good SP with Santana, Maine, Perez, Pelfery, and Martinez. They also have a good offense led by Wright and Beltran. The only problem they face is in the bullpen, very inconsistent middle relief, and they really need Wagner back.

Yankees: No, they don't have enough pitching. With Wang missing the rest of the season and Joba out its just to much for that aging offense to carry. Especially when they lose games because of stupid errors like tonight when Damon dropped two flyballs. Even though they have the hitters to make the playoffs, their pitching is just too bad.

Mets will get in after having a great late season push and the Yanks will not play great and the Jays will get ahead of them.

the mets will make the playoffs but the yankees are uncertain.  They are not scoring runs, despite the great efforts out of their starting pitching and bullpen.  Their defense hasn't been that great, but what is really hurting them is their lack of effort.  If you see them, they look dead out their, like if they didn't care anymore.  I wouldn't count them out yet, but if september comes and they are like that or worse, then I guess their streak is over!
