you should look on the sims 3 website ....if it has been said it will be on there.... also you are able to make your own neighbourhoods......on sims 2

Sims 2 allows you to make your own neighborhoods from scratch IF you have Sim City 4.  You create the base on SC4 and then import it to the sims2.  Otherwise the game included several "blank" neighborhoods that you could customize.  I used one of those for my Legacy family and another to recreate a town from one of my favorite books.  I think I heard that you would NOT be able to create your own neighborhood in sims3 though...the statement was followed up with something along the lines of..."there will be plenty of other outlets for our players to customize and use their creativity"

I dont think anyone has answered this yet, but no, you wont be able to make new neighborhoods on the Sims 3 at first. You only get one large neighborhood. I am guessing it is because the free movement uses too much graphics and ram that other 'hoods would be too large to fit on your computer all at once with the base game. I do believe that expansion paks for the Sims 3 will allow you to do it, so that means we're going to have to wait.

Not at release.

The Sims 3 will come included with 1 huge neighborhood containing up to 90 lots.

Add-ons may be added with updation or patching giving you the option to build your own.

You will be able to do the following:

- Create up to 10 Neighborhoods.

- Create roads, bridges, tunnels and railway.

- Create a river or a lake.

- Adjust the height of the ground-level enabling you to create little hills and huge mountains.

- Firmware and Scenary can be added (such as trees, grass, sand, gravel, etc.).

- Additional accessories can be imported into the nieghborhood (such as landmarks, crashed UFO, music tones, clouds, rainbows, boats, airballoons, etc.).

Just so you know, The Sims 3 won't have any expansion packs, instead you can choose what features and objects you would like to assemble and buy.

This was announced by Bell Ben in an interview by IGN in 2007.

Actually, you CAN create your own neiborhood in the sims two! when it gives you the option to choose a neiborhood, just go to the next page and they have theoption of create your own neiborhood.
