I know lots of ppl hate Collingwood, but its an Aussie tradition now!

The tributes and stories they show before the match about the diggers always brings a tear to my eye.

  1. Both

  2. Watching for the footy

    Marching for my Dad

staying at the Hyatt in a spa getting totalled

  3. I would love to  ... but dammit I have to work =(

  4. sorry I will not be watching..... :(

  5. Yes but I don't believe Essendon and Collingwood should claim AFL ownership of the game. Sorry if the supporters don't like it but no one owns ANZAC tradition but the ANZACs, and as such the advertising of the likes of Samsung, Toyota, Lexus, Emirates and Adidas on this sacred day is a disgrace to what the diggers fought for.

  6. I always go for the Pies on the Anzac Day match.  I don't mind watching those lads play.  They'll come good. You'd be a bloody fool to write them off.

  7. YES!!!  So glad people are getting into the Anzac spirit this year.

I've been seeing a lot of stories about Anzac and yes I do shed a tear also.

Can't wait for the game and even better the BBQ your doing.

Are you making the fried rice?  I made the fried rice and it came out EXACTLY the same...My hubby was pleased..lol

    BRING IT ON!!!

    GO COLLINGWOOD!!!!!!

PLEASE Go Collingwood.....Win for Rogue...She's not a happy chappy when the Pies are losing...she's a shocking host when that happens....When they are winning, she's all out there.lol

  8. Yes, what a tradition it is too, it commemerates our diggers, what a game. Essondon vs the pies, i really don't like the pies but think they can do it on Monday, this game will show the pride of our country, the loyalty of our men and players and the performance that we see every year at the MCG, if theirs one game too see, this is it by far. You either love em or you hate em, but on Monday you honor them, Essondon and Collingwood, the MCG clash, a real game not too miss.

  9. I will be going to the dawn service and having a few beers with my ex service mates after the march, that's   how I pay my respect on Anzac day

As for the game I agree it is an Aussie tradition and very well presented by the AFL and both clubs involved but honestly I will be watching it for the game

Hope we all can spare a thought for all our brave men and woman currently on active service on Friday

  10. I will watch it for the MIGHTY MAGPIES!!!

The tributes make me cry too!

  11. Of course, After my anger last week i now want the magpies to win.

  12. For the game, i personally think you can not equate what our soldiers or any soldiers for that matter went through in all the wars we have been in.

i know it's meant as a respect thing but war/sacrifice cannot be equaled on the footy field, also i don't see why it can not be shared around for other clubs, like the top two Victorian clubs for instance, it would be good reward. just my opinion, pie/bombers supporters would not agree but it would make the AFL look look they are trying to be fair to all at least.

I will watch any football match, so i wouldn't miss it, it has finals atmosphere all over it, it would be good to watch the tige's in it, that's all.

  13. For who ever is playing? If it's Essendon then for the game ffs we have Friday  footy whether its ANZAC Day or not.

  14. Hello Rogue,

I was at the 2003 game, sat in the old Northern Stand. Even though I am an American, I was very appreciative of the patriotic stance taken on ANZAC day by Australia. I watched the goings on at the Shrine in the morning on television.

ANZAC day is a great thing.

  15. I'll definitely be watching it. Going to the Dawn Service and then our coach called a training session from 10-12 hope I'm home to watch a 12.00 start. :)

  16. ill be watching it all day. obviously i barrack for the Pies and the Bombers are my 3rd fave AFL team so ill watch the game, but ill also be watching it becoz of ANZAC day. my great-great grandfather fought in that war and died to save us so ill be thinking off him tomorrow. GO PIES!

  17. ANZAC day games are always really good.

but its also really sentimental for a lot of people.

so i guess its both :)
