Will you consider buying a scooter or moped if gas prices go up to $4.25?

If gas prices climb any higher, like $4.25 a gallon or more, will you consider buying a Moped or Scooter that gets about 80 miles to the gallon or better. If not, why? Is it too dangerous, not cool to be seen on, too much hassle?

$4.25 is cheap, in england its over 8 bucks,,,,at that price I would start riding donkeys

No.  I ride a DR650SE and won't consider being a scooter

Already $4.60 here.

No, I travel on the Interstate highway each day, carry tools and test equipment with me, rain or shine, snow, whatever. So a scooter doesn't help at all.

I think I'll either be getting a hybrid car or a bike - depending on where my first permanent job is in relation to my apartment/house. (It's a future question, but I'm sure not going to get a cheap car to pay $5.00 a gallon for each gallon I use!)

Sure. In fact I have been considering it as of late. They seem to be better designed these days and after all, isn't it cool to save money! Transit is another great option in many cases.

Here in Michigan, It's been hovering around $4.25 for weeks.

But I wouldn't consider a scooter for the fact that I would only be able to ride it maybe 6 months out of the year because of snow.

Plus, on the odd chance that I have to go somewhere using the freeway, I wouldn't have a mode of transportation.

yes if it is city driving also because i live in toronto and in downtown, lots of people are driving scooters for that reason

it's already $4.15 here in MD...no moped here I just stop eating out and stop buying useless things and I have more money for gas..now when it reach 5$ I will start catching the bus to work and walk to the stores.

I just bought a honda cbr for gas prices, and for summer time. haha.  But it gets about 51mpg so thats something to smile about.   If I lived right in the city then I would Totally buy a moped!  They're so fun to drive!
