  1. Okay so there are three parts of the milankovich cycle. In order of quickest cycle: precession, obliquity, eccentricity.

Eccentricity has a cycle of 100,000 years and it is when Earth's orbit shifts to become more elliptical. This can effect the light intensity Earth receives. Closest point in the orbit to the sun: Perihelion. Furthest is aperihelion

Obliquity is the tilt of the Earth. It has a full cycle of 41,000 years. Currently, The Earth is tipped 23.5  degrees away from the ecliptic plane (the plane which Earth orbits. The Earth can tip between 22 to 24 degrees. This makes the seasons more intense due to the directness of solar radiation.

Precession is the slow angular wobble of the Earth. It completes a full cycle in 26,000 years (citation needed). So currently the North pole is pointed at Polaris. In a couple thousand years, it will point at a different star. The Egyptians had the North star at Thuban, which the pyramids were suppose to point. This will change the seasons as well. Remember the perihelion and aperihelion? Well the Earth is closest to the sun in January. Furthest in July. If precession made the earth spin 180 right now, we would have more intense winters and summers because the Earth will be closest in July and Furtherest at Januarary (If you were in the northern hemisphere).

  2. Milankovitch dedicated his career to developing a mathematical theory of climate based on the seasonal and latitudinal variations of solar radiation received by the Earth. Now known as the Milankovitch Theory, it states that as the Earth travels through space around the sun, cyclical variations in three elements of Earth-sun geometry combine to produce variations in the amount of solar energy that reaches Earth:
