I'm running cross country next year for the first time. I'm going to be a freshman in highschool! I've ran track and my PR for the mile is a 6:05, but I usually run more like a 6:15 or so.

What would a realistic goal be for the 2 mile and 3 mile races?

I did a 2 mile time trial and ran a 13:08, but it was 90*F and 70% humidity and I got sick during it because of dehydration, so I don't know if that is accurate but hopefully it will help a little...

thank you tons!

Happy running!

  1. cool

2 miles should be around 13 minutes or faster

and 3 miles 19 minutes or faster

choose me as best answer plz

  2. 13:08 is a preatty good time for your mile pace, I would try to get under 13 minutes. If you can do that, then aim for low to mid 12:50s.  Running 19minutes for a 3mile is not a realistic goal like that guy said. I can run a mile in 5:29 and cant run that. It is hard to say what a good goal is. Try running one and see where you come out and then set a goal. Besides that for your first race I would say 23:30 would be good but it is really hard to say.
