This was sent to all 50 governors can you help spread the word?We re writing to you in hopes of your support for a new law. ( every governor in every state)On January 21st 2006 in a Cuba New Mexico, Alex Ogle a young man just 18 years old was brutally murdered by two men he had just befriended. As it turned out these two men, who are cousins had each accidentally been released from 2 different jails. Each had been jailed for violent offenses Recently both were prosecuted and sentenced. This was a high profile case in the Albuquerque area and received a lot of media attention. Becky Ames (the mother of Alex Ogle) decided she needed to turn the tragedy of the death of her son into something positive. She began with an idea to have a nation wide violent offenders list “The Alex Law†would require any one convicted of a violent felony in where great bodily harm was inflicted to register in the area that they live. Much like the s*x offenders list the public would have access. This law would give us the tools to protect ourselves and our children. Becky is contacting law makers in New Mexico and has enlisted the help of her friend Randie to do the same in Idaho for support in passing The Alex Law.. Becky and a group of friends and family in New Mexico are attempting to start a support and advocacy group for friends and families of murder victims. She once again called on her friends Randie and Vickey to do the same in Idaho. With some luck The Tears of Murder will open 2 chapters early next year one in Idaho and one in New Mexico
