Will you keep it?

here is the situation. you chance upon a million dollar in, lets say the park and no one is claiming. will you go out your way to seek the owner or will you keep it to yourself

If you take it you would have to read the ARS very well to know the direction to take to enjoy the fruits without conscience there for in safety.

Definitely, I'll go out my way to seek the owner. I know how it feels like to lost something with great value. It would be my pleasure to have the money back to the owner. That good deed is priceless.

That would be a very hard decision. I would be wondering if it were some type of illegal drug money, as you stated no one was claiming it. But on the other hand it could possible be someones life's savings. I think I would have to listen to my conscious and turn it over to the proper authorities. And see if anyone claims it. If not claimed within a certain amount of time, then I could use it with a clear conscious.

I'd seek.. I don't think I could live with myself as horrible as it is to give it back.. But when you do, you'll make someone happy and relieved and who knows, the owner might be nice enough to give it to you, or earn your trust or even give you something in return as an award and we all end up happy.

Here's how I see it... If you go announcing that you're looking for the person (idiot) who lost $1M, someone will claim it. So, why should I miss out on keeping the money if someone else claims it falsely anyway? Assuming nobody else around sees what is going on, I would take it and not say anything. If I were to hear on the news or through some other means about where the money came from or that a sum like this was missing, then I would come forward and give it all back (but hopefully get some kind of finders fee out of it). But no, you don't just go around the park shouting, "Did anyone lose a million dollars?"
